You may not think that length is that important but it is… wig length is a crucial part of the choosing process as the way the wig falls will determine how well it suits you. However, you also must measure your head size and choose the best for you.
The hair length should be from the head top to the hair bottom as the hair is straight. The curly and wavy wigs are processed from straight wigs, so in the same length, curly and wavy wigs will be shorter by 1-2 inches(it depends on how deep the curl is)than straight wigs. How To Measure The Length In The Right Way?
For different styles of hair wig length, all have the same hair length with declares is the most common choice for our clients. Let’s say, each hair length in 16 inches, measuring from the roots to the tape, we can see the hair end in 16 inches. If we measure from the crown, all the way to the bottom, we can see the hair length will over 16 inches, it reflects the hair system has layers.

- Step 1: To beginning, place the hair on the wig-stand or lay the hair on the table. Then stop by taking some of the hair from the top and holding up. Take the measuring tape pressing one end at the hair roots, measure along to the bottom tape of the human hair. You got one data, that’s not finished. It’s a quite inaccurate read from one-time measuring.
- Step 2: Then take some hair from middle part of the hair, measure it as the same with the first step. One more measuring is necessary.
- Step 3: After that, take some hair from the bottom of the hair, measure it. Doing so, you can obtain reasonable hair length from three times measuring.
For textured hair, you may have fine hair and textured it in wavy. Measuring method is a little bit different. We will tell you the detail methods.

How To Measure Your Head Size For Your Wig?
The key to a good fit is forming an accurate head measurement, which can be difficult too. Many women opt to come into the store and have us do it. Others prefer to do it at home, which also works. So, here’s how to do this properly.
1. Head Circumference
This measures the distance around your head. Starting at the center of the front hairline, place the tape flat against your head, going just above the ear towards the back of the head, keeping the tape at the nape of your neck and go around to the opposite side of your head, just above the opposite ear and returning to the center of the front hairline.
2. Front To Nape Of Neck
This measures the length of your head from the front to the nape of your neck. To determine where the nape of your neck is, tilt your head back and look up. Where your neck bends and may even develop a skin fold, is where your nape is. You want the bottom of the wig to sit right above this area so that when you do tilt your head back that far, your wig will not shift on your head.
This area is often right at the occipital bone, but be sure to take the measurement with your neck bent down so that you are looking at your shoes. Starting at the front hairline, measure directly across the middle top of your head to the area that you have determined is your nape.
3. Ear To Ear Across The Forehead
This measurement measures the width of your forehead. Place tape at the point on your hairline next to your ear. And measure across the forehead to the opposite side stopping at the hairline near your ear.
4. Ear To Ear Over the Top
This measurement measures the width of the center of your head. Place tape at the point on your hairline next to your ear. And measure across the crown of the head to the opposite side stopping at the hairline near your ear.
5. Temple To Temple Across The Back Of Head
This measures the width of the back of your head. Place the tape at the temples on your hairline and then measure across the middle back of the head to the opposite side temple, stopping at the hairline.
6. Nape Of Neck
This measures the width of your neck. Place the tape at the lowest point on your hairline and measure across the neck to the opposite side.
Tips For Measurement
Not every hair is the same length and there is some shorter hair. We use some shorter hair to make out natural look just like the hairs grown up on the scalp with different hair length. The hair length shown on our website is the longest part of the hair. Only the longest hair can reach the length.
When you measure the curly and wavy hair wigs, the hair can’t become very straight although you pull it to straight. Therefore, the length may be a little shorter or longer. These cases all reach the length standard.
Please Note
If you are ordering a curly wig, the hair length can be drawn up approximately 2-3" from the curl depending on how tight it is. For waves, it can draw up approximately 1-2". Therefore, you may wish to order a little longer for curly or wavy textures to accommodate the drawing up of the hair and to achieve the full length desired. If the hair of the wig is longer than what you desire, you can have it expertly cut by your stylist.
